There’s a bunch of amazing video game auctions up on eBay right now. I don’t think I’ve seen so many different items that I’m not familiar with all in one post.

Now to start things off I want to say that I know it’s not the rarest auction of the night, but I’d like to show first this Earthworm Jim Sega Cd Signed by Dave Perry. Now you are wondering why I choose this to be the first auction. Well, I remember a time back in the 90′s when Earthworm Jim was HUGE. Every kid was bringing their issue of Nintendo Power and showing around this new game that would be coming out. I remember it was very unique for it’s time. It’s humorous action moves, the amazing graphics, everyone wanted to have this game. If you owned a copy, you were the “cool” kid and everyone wanted to come over to your place to test it out. Nowadays, this is one title that I never hear anyone talk about. It’s one of the least discussed SNES/Sega game. Unless you are part of some underground Earthworm Jim forum, then you’ll probably agree with me here. So I thought that I would shed some light on a game that isn’t talked about much anymore. The fact of having a signed copy of the game(well, the Sega CD version) by Dave Perry is pretty freakin cool, and very uncommon to come by.

I also wanted to bring up a point. Most people will argue that the value of an autograph depends on whether or not the person who signed it is alive or dead. I believe that the value of an autograph is measured on scarcity. I find that autographs which are readily available don’t have much value since you can find them on eBay anytime. For example, look at the Hideo Kojima autographs; we post one every 2nd week if not more. Because Kojimas autographs are easily attainable this decreases the value in my opinion. It’s less desirable. Sure you’ll have a kick of owning one, but everyone else on your block has the same chance of owning his autograph as well thus making it less rare. I mean if you don’t care about everyone on your block also owning a Kojima autograph than it’s fine. But I like to work for my collectibles. I want to make sure that when I frame or display something thats “rare” in my room I can look at it and say, “Damn, that was one of the toughest finds ever!”. This makes sense to a hardcore collector. You want to own something that no one else owns, or very few other collectors own. So, with that said I have not seen a Dave Perry autograph in a long time, which by my defintion is quite desirable to own .

The best part about this auction is that the autograph was not made out to anyone, which definitely adds more value to the piece. Here’s what the seller said:

“Exact item pictured. Game, box, and manual are in excellent condition. This was purchased new by me and has been kept in a loving and smoke-free home.I took the manual to E3 one year and got it autographed by Dave Perry, founder of Shiney Entertainment (creators of Earthworm Jim), credited as a programmer on this particular game, and a well-known ‘mover and shaker’ in the game industry. He was pretty cool about giving me the autograph in spite of being obviously very busy doing businessy stuff at E3. He said he hadn’t seen the Sega CD release yet, and encouraged me not to cheat and listen to the special ending track on the CD, which dastardly deed I swore I would not perform. So, having never finished the game, I still haven’t heard it.”

The Holy Grail of Bioshock Collectibles- Thanks to PJ for the AWESOME find. What a beaut! Seller says everything perfectly: “The Holy Grail of Bioshock memorabilia-and one of the rarest pieces of videogame memorabilia-this is the Sander Cohen statue by Irrational Games Studios master artist Robb Waters.This item was never issued to the general public. It was, in fact, only given to people that worked on the original Bioshock game (and to other people at Irrational Games.) Ken Levine, himself, personally gave each statue away. Both Mr. Levine (the mastermind of the Bioshock franchise and head of Irrational Games) and Mr. Waters personally hand signed each statue on the underside of the base of the statue. Each statue has also been hand numbered.
Mr. Waters is the lead art director of the Bioshock franchise. His vision formed the Bioshock universe (of both the under sea dystopia from the first two games, and the skyward land of Infinite) as we know it today. The statue is near mint to mint condition and includes its original box. The bunny rabbit mask is removable and can be placed on the figure’s face or on either hand. The box is nondescript, being made of plain white cardboard. Not too many of these statue were made, and it’s virtually impossible to find one in the open market; don’t miss this opportunity.” Fantastic piece!
A Tie To Die For! - We’ve shown plenty of Sonic the Hedgehog ties (official and unofficial), but it’s about time that a Super Mario tie surfaces. The fact that this tie is also an official Nintendo product makes it much more attractive. The tie features characters from Mario cart! I bet you won’t find this one pop up on eBay anytime soon. The price is cheap so bid! Seller says: “TAG ON BACK OF TIE SAYS: NINTENDO TM 1993 NINTENDO ALL RIGHTS RESERVED”.
Magna Carta 2 Collector’s Edition – Only 1,000 Made – I’m not sure if this is the same one that sold a while back but it’s nonetheless very rare. Seller says: “This was released ONLY in South Korea, and is limited to 1,000.The box is very large, and one of the nicest collector’s editions out there. They are all individually numbered.The contents include the game itself, OST, extremely detailed art book, posters, and a faceplate.I must say, the Magna Carta 2 faceplate is my favorite faceplate — it’s extremely pretty. I have provided pictures of an openend edition, but do not be mistaken, this auction is for a brand new and sealed one. These pictures are simply to show you what the box looks like inside.There is a weird tail at the end of the shrinkwrap, but it is no rip of any sort. It just sticks out; I hope the pictures depict is as clearly as possible”
Signed Dead Rising Servbot Coffe Mug Cup – Last time we featured this mug on VGA, it sold for $400 (check the VGA Hall of Fame). Since then they have sold for less but still a hard item to find. Best part about this mug is that only 500 were given out and each one was signed by Keiji Inafune!
Rare Professor Layton and the Last Specter Promo Hat Nintendo – The Professor Layton series has grown over the years and it’s thanks to his first hit PL and the Curious Village. Now everyone wants to own Professor Layton’s hat, and lucky for you there is one currently on eBay! It’s not cheap, but then again when’s the next time you’ll see one of these hats on eBay? Really cool collectors piece.
Famicom Game Exed Exes Silver Members Sticker – Only 2000 of these were made for the special tournament in Japan which would explain why the starting price of $150 already has a bid. The seller was nice enough to give an explanation of the item in more detail. Hey says in the auctions description: “Apparently, Tokuma Shoten organized a contest to commemorate the release of Exed Exes in Japan. Four special words appear throughtout the game, all triggered by a certain hi-score -BABYBOY (between 500,000 and 2,000,000),TOUCHME (between 2,000,000 and 5,000,000),KICKPOP (between 5,000,000 and 9,000,000) andRAPYTUA (over 9,000,000). This is rather tricky to achieve, although the game gives the player unlimited continues, the score counter resets to zero after a game over. The game’s manual reveals some information about the contest. It seems that prizes were awarded through Tokuma Shoten’s Family Computer Magazine to players who could send such passwords. Prizes came in the shape of member stickers that players would put on their original Famicom game cartridge of Exed Exes . The prize stickers were Silver (2000 winners), Gold (500 winners), Platinum (100 winners) and Royal (10 winners).”

Rare MSX Games:
Seller tubare44 has up three rare MSX games which are all complete. Not sure about the sellers prices, but pretty cool to see these on eBay. Konami’s Frogger on the MSX is one of the rarest Konami MSX titles, and to find one complete is even rarer. Normally collectors looking to complete their “Konami MSX” collection will want to bid on this since this game was obviously available only in Japan. The game was never sold outside of Japan so this is the missing link to many collections. Seller also has:

We have a lot of video game auctions to show you today. I’m actually excited for this post because there’s a lot of auctions that are priced decently, and a lot of these items are on my “want-list” like this Original Super Mario 64 95 Gold Grade Factory Sealed! I say original because this has the “N64″ logo on the top right of the box, not the “Player’s Choice” logo. Now I don’t know about you, but ever since Video Game Authority started to grade games I always wanted to get my hands on a Super Mario 64 95 grade. I mean sure I would love to have a grade of 100, but I can say I’ve never seen a 100 grade. Supposdely resellers who order bulks of these have 100 grades stored in their collection. Nevertheless, the auction I’m talking about already hit the $500 and already passed the magic number I had off the top of my head. What I wanted to do with this 95 SM64 grade was eventually go to a Nintendo  convention that Mr.Martinet is attending to and get this autographed by him. That would make this the ultimate Super Mario 64 collectible! To have the voice of Mario sign it! But that’s just me.

Castlevania Koji Igarashi Autographed Dracula X – “You are bidding on a promo sell sheet that was given out by konami to promote the release of Dracula X on PSP. It’s double side with screen shots and facts on the back. This was autographed by Koji Igarashi in silver sharpie on the front. I got the this when I worked for GameStop and was in Vegas for their yearly conference. Konami had Koji flown in to sign autographs and promote the game. Koji carried a whip to sign autographs. I was never a castlevania fan. So I pass this on to you. It in great shape no bends or tears. Small dent at the bottom but did not rip through you can see it in the picture. It has been in a plastic case in my closet since I got it. It’s the size of a standard sheet of paper.”
1992 Super Nintendo Super Scope T-Shirt – When you do you ever see Super Scope t-shirts? This is an awesome vintage SNES shirt thats in used shape, but still looks great. The start bid is $6.99 so check it out!
Sega Mega CD Promotional Tin – This is a really cool auction. This is a Sega Mega Cd Promotional Tin with Upcoming Game Release Cards. It came with Mean Machines Magazine in the early 1990′s.
Final Fantasy III (JP) signed by Nobuo Uematsu – A near mint condition copy of the Famicom edition of Final Fantasy 3 signed by the composer himself, Nobuo Uematsu. Seller says: “I had the pleasure of meeting him and the rest of his band, the Earthbound Papas, at the gaming convention MAGFest X and they were kind enough to sign and donate a few items to help support the charirty I work with here in Japan called Japan Cat Network (JCN)JCN goes into the nuclear disaster area of Fukushima to feed and rescue the many animals that have been left behind all these months. It is not just cats and dogs either, we have helped save chickens, pigs, cows and even some tamed boar.”
Earthbound Papas bag & drumstick signed Nobuo Uematsu – Same seller as above. He says hat both his auctions are going to charity. You might want to check that out, but in the end you are probably trying to win the auction so you both win.
Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time 1997 E3 Promotional – I bet by the end of this week this auction will be sold. The seller has a “best-offer” option on top of his decent price. I’ve seen this priced high in the past.
Sonic 3 – Special Edition Enamel Pin Set in Box – I always love to see vintage sonic the hedgehog items on eBay, even if they happen to be pins.
Space Channel 5 Complete Figure Set Palisades Ulala Pudding Evila Statue – I cannot stress how rare these are. Seller says: “Scroll down for larger pics! This is a complete set of every Space Channel 5 figure released by Palisades. The large Ulala & Morolians statue has been opened, however, the five smaller figures are all factory sealed and in flawless mint condition. The Ulala statue is in nearly perfect condition, but there is one flaw. The blue Morolian’s antennas are slightly bent. This is the only flaw on the entire statue. This is an incredibly rare find, to have all of these figures in one place. Just so you know exactly what you’re bidding on, I have gone into complete overkill mode on the photos! I have taken photos of the entire set from every possible angle, 29 pics in all. Yes. 29 PICS. As a collector myself, I just like to let people know what they’re getting. There are a few sellers in today’s listing who have a shrinking stock of the item up for auction. This happens when someone buys up a collectible with the intent of reselling for a profit, or when old stock for a store is found. Both examples can be found below. The first item up is going fast…

The Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia - Another release connected to the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda, this book is full of great information from the Zelda series. The book is Japanese, but the seller is shipping from the U.S. This is their second batch of books and all but 4 have been sold.

Neo Geo Pocket Color - This auction is closing today (or has already closed, depending on when you’re reading this. lol) and the current bid is quite low.

Doom SNES Sealed - Something funny about this auction… The sealed copy of Doom is actually selling for the exact same price that I paid when it was new! Game prices back then were very unpredictable. The seller started with a full box of sealed copies of Doom, but half have already sold.

Doom 3 Gamestop Jacket - The seller explains that these jackets were given to Gamestop stores that sold the most copies of Doom 3. Each store that won got 5 jackets but how many stores qualified is unknown.

Skyrim Flag - It’s tough to get an idea of the size of this by the picture, but it’s actually 60″ long! That’s pretty huge. Bids are adding up and the auction closes today.

Sharp Famicom Station - Here is a serious buy for a serious collector. It’s in great shape and intact. The seller doesn’t have the key to open the front however.

Batman Arkham City Statue - Another awesome release from Kotobukiya! I love the gray look and how they used the edge of the base as part of the sculpture itself. The seller started with 4, but there’s only 1 left.

Batman DC Universe Online Statue - This Batman statue doesn’t match the quality found in the one above, but it still looks great. It has an above average paint job that catches the eye. 

Donkey Kong Coloring & Activity Book - You can’t go wrong for $2. There is one page with a connect the dots picture partly done, but it’s otherwise left untouched. This auction closes today.

Good morning VGA readers. I have a ton of cool auctions for you today from controllers to signed posters and more. This might be a good time to find some bargains as Christmas is coming up so people usually start to sell items to make some extra cash for Christmas so if you see a good deal that’s probably one of the reasons you’ll get it.

First auction is for a Final Fantasy Collectible Lot. It includes some great Final Fantasy stuff like the Final Fantasy VII 1997 Mini Counter Display which looks to be mint(it’s also framed). Also you have the rare limited Gold Character Cards. The cardass gold cards are limited to 500 world wide and there is a total of 4 cards. They were a campaign prize in 1997 and was only obtainable through a draw which if you were lucky you were mailed a card with a letter. A complete set is extremely hard to find and goes for about $1000 without the official envelope or letter. This set comes with the official envelope and letter, all in mint condition. You have more goodies and the price is VERY reasonable if you ask me, it’s almost an amazing deal, but it is high for most.

- Sony PSP Coca Cola Limited Edition not for sale - Only 1300 copies were made, which was given away in a Coke Style special event in March 2005. This is very rare and if you want more information check out the auction.

- Atari 2600 Pitfall Game Cartridge- It’s autographed by David Crane Game’s Designer. It was signed at the  2011 Portland Oregon retro Gaming Expo. The cartridge label does have wear, white scuff on back of cartridge. The autograph is clear, done in black permanent marker.

- Fatal Fury 2, 3, Special Japan Merchandise - Not often you’ll see Fatal Fury merchandise. It includes a Notebook, Cardboard, and huge plastic string bag.

- Koffi: Yellow Kopter (Atari 5200) Signed & Numbered copy - This is Kofi:  Yellow Kopter for the Atari 5200.  First Edition, Hand signed and hand numbered by the author, Ron Lloyd.  Both the box and cartridge are signed and numbered.  Includes box and manual and cartridge – everything that came with it. This is #79.

- Call of Duty MW 3 Poster Signed - It’s a big poster hand signed by the dev team. This really interests me because it’s Infinity Ward who signed it, the original creators. It also comes with a bag and patches.

- HUGE consoles, games, accessories LOT - A very rare chance in a single auction to own all these goodies. The amount of goods in this auction far surpass the price so it’s an amazgin deal in my opinion.

- Turbografx Express with AC power and Car Adapter - All boxed and complete. I really wanted one of these when I was younger because the technology was amazing. Auction is currently at $450 with one bid.

- RODLAND – PAL-A Nintendo NES Game - It was exclusive To Italy so you can imagine how rare this is. You can view the gameplay here. It’s pretty cool if you ask me, not complicated but fun to play.

- Chrono Trigger Sealed SNES - A sealed copy, but looks to be in average shape. Auction is at $305 but I would ask to see more pictures.

- Halo Reach Standee Clock – This is really cool, I didn’t see this any any game store near me and I visit quite a lot of them.

- Donkey Kong Jr. Math - The box has some wear but it’s complete with inserts and manual. One of the rarer games for the NES it’s on auction for $250 with one bid.

- Gears Of War 3 Locust Edition - The Locust bust was selling for $900 at one point and it’s well worth $450 alone but in this lot you have a ton of extras that is worth looking into.

- MSX game METAL GEAR Konami 1987 Japan - A rare version of the Metal Gear game that was released for the NES.

- Huge PC Game Lot - Wow a lot of great games in here, what a way to bring me back to 1995 with titles such as Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry and Monkey Island. Although I’m suprised the seller doesn’t have any King’s Quest titles…If you really want to go back to 90s Pc era click here.

- The Flintstones: Surprise at Dino Peak - This game along with Rescue Rangers 2 and Duck Tales 2 are on my top list of NES titles to get in the next year, and I promise myself I will.

- Hagane - Limited to blockbuster stores worldwide this game has game appeal because it’s a side scroller full of action. For $140 it’s not a bad price although you can find cheaper from time to time. We all know how much a sealed game goes for!

- Nintendo 64 GEOFFREY Controller TOYS”R”US - This was obviously only available at Toys “R” Us in Japan. Doesn’t get rarer than this for N64 controllers.

- Ace Attorney Gyakuten Saiban Figure Complete Collection Set - For those who played the game it’s a nice figure collection of the characters.

- Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers 2 – Ah at last a good price for this game, $85 but I’m sure it’s just for the cart. Still a good price if you ask me.

Good morning VGA readers. I have a bunch of Buy it Now auctions, I try not to post them too often because they’re not considered “bargain auctions” but some of these were cool so I want to show them to you. I also have unique World of Warcraft auctions so if you’re a fan you have to see this.

Here is the description “Blizzard Entertainment is offering a series of special charity auctions featuring server hardware originally used during World of Warcraft’s early days. - Brand New Chrono Trigger Factory Sealed - This is going on auction and is around $700 with 1 day left. The pictures aren’t very clear but it is an official sealed game. Read the description and ask questions before bidding. Seller is located in Malaysia.

- Collectible Electrical 3D ‘SUPER NINTENDO’ Wall Sign - Classic SNES light up sign. I use to see this all over the place back in the 90s. The price is high, but this is a must for any game room.

- Virtual Bart Sega Mega Drive Japan - This Mega Drive game is top 5 rarest titles in Japan for this console. The game is really fun, I owned the one on the Genesis. Don’t know how much attention this will get in North America.

- LSI Game & Watch SplatterHouse Japan Import - This is a really cool auction. Splatterhouse had a Game & Watch in Japan? I’d love to see how this plays. The price isn’t friendly but the seller does offer a best offer option.

- Metal Gear Solid Risk Game - Ah ha! My predictions are right, this game has jumped from $199.99 to $599.99. I would understand if it was 5-10 years old and it was sought after but it just came out two weeks ago!

- HUGE Lithograph collection! Mass Effect, Dead Space, Dragon Age Bioware - This is a HUGE Lithograph collection from the the games in the title. The price is actually a steal if you consider how much each one goes for on eBay. Not only that they’re hard to collect.

- DEAD ISLAND BANNER 172” Vinyl Sign - I haven’t played this game, although the trailer is just awesome. This is a nice banner for any game room. It is a little pricey.

- Famicom NES Bio Miracle Bijytte Upa Baby Boy - This is a Famicom classic and hard to find. For those who don’t know this is similar game play to Super Mario 2-3. It’s hard to explain but loads of fun. I had a pirated version of this when I was around 10 years old and it was called “Baby Mario”. I might have to pick this copy up, it’s that fun!

- NEO GEO Watch SNK JPN - A complete watch collection from the Neo Geo Series in Japan. These are used and don’t come with batteries according to the seller but it looks complete. You have a total of 9 watches.

- Zelda Ocarina of Time Skateboard – From 1998 this auction is for a SIB(Sealed in Box) which is pretty impressive as the only ones I have seen are loose or used. It has a nice illustration and the auction price is good at $99.

- Zelda Twilight Princess Beach Towel - Ends in 7hrs so check it out. I don’t see this Zelda Twilight Princess towel often on eBay and the bids show that it’s the case.

Good morning VGA readers. First auction is for the Dark Link Figure from First4Figures. There are onl 725 made in the world and I can see this going up in price in the future, similar to the Fierce Deity Figure. This is a pre-order and will be shipped to you directly from the factory. - Atari Jaguar Development System – Complete, buy it now price for $149.99

- Playstation Wall Clock - Custom made but super cool, although it’d be a lot cooler if there were numbers. I’m not so big on clocks or watches that have blank numbers.

- Sega Genesis CDX Console - Not so rare but the production was low. These are still sought after because of it’s high quality compared to other models of the Sega cd.

- Gears of War Autographed Hat - It has 7 signatures from the development team. Nice hat for the Gears of War fan.

- Modern Warefare 3 Hoodie XL - Grrr.. if it was a size medium or even large I’d buy it. I still don’y get why games have shirts that are always XL more then the typical medium or large sizes.

- Famicom Rockman Megaman Collection - This is Megaman 1,2,3,4,5,6 in Japan, doesn’t look like it comes with the boxes.

- Chrono Cross Statue - This is a reminder there is only a day left and these are going for VERY low. The seller has quite a few of these for sale so now is your chance to steal one at a low price.

- Nintendo Tetris Game Watch - Sealed tetris game watch, don’t see these watches too often.

- SNES Final Fantasy VI Sprites - Fan made but super cool. I have a set like this myself. It’s neat to have if your a huge fan.

- Call of Duty XP Hat - This is a Flex hat so it’s a good fit, but it’s L-XL so if you have a smaller head this will be loose on you.

- Castlevania Symphony of the Night Hand Held - This is by Tiger games and it’s so cool they made a hand held for the greatest Castlevania game ever. I’ve featured sealed ones in the past that went for a lot. This is opened but in good condition.

- Conflict:Vietnam PS2 Army Helmet - A rare collectible for a not so popular title. I haven’t seen this before, but it’s original.

- MASS EFFECT 3 Medal & Omniblade – This is from Pax 2011, a lot of goodies from that event. There’s 5 days left with 2 bids and it’s currently at $36.

- Vintage Atari Activision Robotank Cross of Excellence Patch - This comes with the letter from Activision and there’s no reserve!

I got some nice video game auctions to unload from my watchlist. I’m in a bit of a hurry this morning so I won’t have time to cut through all the details for each auctions, but nonetheless they are worth mentioning on VGA. For the prototypes, I’m not sure how much they are worth. With any collectible there’s no real fixed price except for what the hardcore collector will be willing to pay. Price can really vary. Best bet would be to run them on regular auction and just to be safe add a “reserve price” or start the bid at a reasonable price so you motivate collectors to bid on them. As for the Hacker International Famicom games, yes they were first released on the Famicom as the system probably had more pirate XXX games than the entire NTSC NES collection! Then Panesian released three titles to the US which is why you might not be familiar with HI. You’ll notice the box is a VHS-style case, most likely because they were sold next to VHS porno videos. So whats the difference? Not too much other than the box art and Japanese dirty talk . Enjoy!
