Today’s video game auctions post is all over the map. There’s some great NES game auctions up along with some nice vintage store displays (Jaguar, PlayStation, Kirby Pillow). Also what’s really cool is the Uncharted 3 Travelling Chest. If you take a look at the auction you’ll see the seller probably has one of the nicest thumb pic’s an auction can have. His chest is on a freaking beach! Ahhh…. the beach.

Today you will find some very high end expensive items. Most people simply cannot afford  many of these things (myself included), but there are the few collectors and business owners who may consider throwing down some cash to get their hands on this stuff. First up is, I believe, physically the largest “item” VGA has ever listed. This would be a major investment for a business and would require plenty of maintenance. Still, how many places have a shooting gallery this big?

Disney Shooting Gallery (1977) - Like I said; a big investment. It’s unfortunate that the seller doesn’t have an option up to take offers. I’m guessing they don’t want to sort through them for a serious one. I could see this working for a new classic arcade opening. People would start talking… saying things like, “Ya, they have the classic games from the 80′s but they also have this huge shooting gallery in the back!”.

Next up is a prototype arcade cabinet for a game called The Act. Some of you may know of it, but for those who don’t… there are only 10 of these which were released to the public.

The Act Prototype - The game plays like Dragon’s Lair (mostly) while you watch the animation on screen. The company that made it (Cecropia) closed up before this game was released commercially and only 10 kits were sold to cover expenses. This is a game very few people will ever see. Check out this video for more info and to see the game in action.

Here’s an Atari 2600 game considered by some as the “holy grail” for the 2600. There are rarer games, but I think it’s the story behind this one that gets the collectors lined up.

Pepsi Invaders (Atari 2600) - Only 125 of these unlabelled carts were given out to Coke executives. The game plays like Space Invaders except you’re shooting at “P E P S I” with an invader at the end. It’s a pretty bold statement to have a custom game made where you shoot up your competition lol. Several offers have been made so feel free to make yours. Anything under $1,000 will likely be quickly passed. (Credit to Troy for submitting this auction)

Something now for pinball collectors and/or someone looking to buy a machine that has never been played…

Stern Rolling Stones Limited Edition (New in Box) - Something I love about pinball games is when you get a jackpot and everything goes nuts. I’ve never played this Rolling Stones game, but I bet it’s a blast just for the sound. This machine is still in it’s shipping box and have never been touched.

Gottlieb Home Run Pinball - Only 580 of these made and it was made in 1971. Look through the pictures for yourself, but this looks like a very clean machine to me.

Now, I’m sure everyone was hoping for some more affordable items, so here are a few more of interest.

ColecoVision Expansion Module with 48 Games - The module lets you play Atari 2600 games on your ColecoVision. Included in the auction are 48 games (Atari 2600 and ColecoVision mix).

Lot of 42 NES Games (Loose) - The first bid (which unfortunately has already been made) is only $20. As soon as you see each game is going for less than a dollar, you feel the need to look through the titles I’m sure. There are a few doubles but you’ve also got Donkey Kong Jr and Kid Icaris in there so $20-$30 isn’t bad. Wait it out until the end though; no need to bid yet.

Sega Game Gear TV Tuner - This is something sometimes overlooked in Sega collections. First bid is $0.77 and there’s a bit more than a day left on the auction.

Good afternoon VGA readers. I’ve got some unique auctions for you today which includes some classic titles and cool limited edition merchandise. I usually don’t like posting custom video game items but this Marle Plush from Chrono Cross is just so well done it probably is better then what Squaresoft would have had done in 1999. Let’s start:

First auction is for a Harle Plush from Chrono Cross. This plush was not made by the seller, rather it was purchased by her/him online from an artist ten years ago. Harle measures 9.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide. The plush has remained in bubble wrap and stored safely in the sellers closest untouched. As the seller states, “This cute little harlequin/dark moon dragon can be yours now, as I’ve lost interest in videos games. My loss is your gain”. It’s currently at $100 with zero bids.

- Robot Rubble for Intellivision -A rare title indeed, Robot Rubble almost never shows up brand new, however that is not what raises my eye brow. When I read the description the seller says, “This is the only such game in my husband’s collection“… huh? What does that even mean? Wouldn’t he post this? Did she get this as part of her divorce settlement? Is this revenge for sneaking over to the neighbors house in the middle of the night? Why wouldn’t he part with something so valuable in his collection himself unless he is too ashamed to face reality? We will never know…

- FALLOUT 3 PS3 Survival Edition -The seller is right, this is the only one on eBay right now, but what he isn’t right about is gauging the price range to Amazon.com. He says, “So this is the only one on eBay right now and the only one that I’ve seen for less than $8000.00 (look it up on Amazon.com)“. I wanted to buy Castlevania mint on the NES and I saw a few for $30 on eBay complete. Then I took a look at Amazon(I don’t know why) and some seller had a listing, “The rarest NES game ever Castlevania!” and he had it at $400 bucks…

- Call of Duty Black Ops Launch Kit Xbox 360 – A rare launch kit released for Black Ops. Comes with t-shirts, a lanyard and more. It’s at $300.

- Huge Nintendo Lot 155 Games -All the games have been tested and work. It will be annoying to ship I can imagine. From the description it doesn’t look like any come with a box or booklet. Keep in mind a lot of these are doubles and even tripples.

- Earthbound SNES Boxed Complete – Earthbound always amazes me because of the fan following and the demand for all it’s items and collectibles. It’s pretty much a gold mind if you find a rare Earthbound related item. This is complete with the scratch N’ sniff.

- Call of Duty Strategy Guides Signed -Seller has a bunch of COD guides for sale, and all signed by one of the authors of the multiplayer sections. I don’t know what that means so you need to ask the seller but COD MW was fully focused for multiplayer game play which was awesome.

- World of Nintendo Fiber Optic Sign – I think this is one of the Nintendo Signs that collector’s want the most, but it’s always expensive. Really nice in the dark. This one is at $700.

- Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS Signed – Autographed Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS System. It is covered in a plastic sealant that is easy to remove and replace to preserve the signatures. To find out more about the autographs check out the auction..

- Super Mario Bros 2 Sign – Looks beat up from the pictures. My impression is that this was originally acquired and hanged several times from one room to another. When Dad got upset with all the noise he aggressively took down all posters and punished the children by closing down the game room, then after the storm put it back up with a new pin hole. Well that very pinhole has diminished the value of this priceless artifact.

- Huge 60″ Final Fantasy VIII Cardboard Store Stand – Great Stand up. I remember seeing this everywhere. It was actually really big too like the description states, “Huge”. This would looks cool in any game room. Has some wear but overall good shape.

- Chrono Cross Card game Complete Set 60 Bandai -The price is fair as I don’t see this ever dropping due to the lack of appearance on eBay. It even has the full 6 special card set(prism).

Good afternoon VGA readers it’s Sunday the 15th of January.  It’s going to be interesting to see what the new year will bring for video game collectors. 2011 ended with a mysterious Final Fantasy VII Aeriths Music Box which ended prematurely, but all and all it was a great year. Who knows if one will surface this year but I can only hope. Let’s start with the auctions today:

Video Game Auctions:

-  Super Mario 3 NES VGA 85+ Grade – This is a real nice copy of SM3 sealed. Every hardcore Nintendo collector should at least have a copy of SM3 sealed in his or her collection, however this is an expensive copy.

- Gears of War Poster – This is an original GOW poster with Marcus on the cover. It’s actually pretty inexpensive.  It’s about $10 with shipping. It’s the same image as the 100,000 kill achievement you get in the first Gears of War with the fire behind Marcus.

- 2007 Blizzard Leroy Jenkins Print Signed – Its signed by Mike “Gabe” Krahulik #1.

- Sonic the HedgeHog and tails sailor plush set - This plush set comes from Japan with tags still intact. Definitely a nice plush set for the sonic collector.

- Nintendo Press Kit 2000 – An official press kit released in 2000 by Nintendo. Comes with an image cd as well As information on titles on Gameboy and N64.

- Rayman the animated Series promotional VHS – The official video is by Ubisoft and comes with the original box. It looks to be in great shape. The price is $50.

- Official Yoshi’s Island Sweater – Apparently it was given to the press upon its release on the Super Nintendo. the BIN price is $50.

There’s a bunch of great video game auctions right now, specifically for Gears of War. Kenji posted a couple of days ago a cool GoW painting that was won in a contest so I thought I’d follow up with some more neat auctions. But before I get to that I wanted to shed light on this:

This is an OKAMI Art Amaterasu Wolf Figure Statue. It’s unofficial, but I love the work put into it. It should be official! But if you are a fan of the Okami games then you’ll find a special place in your gaming heart to place a bid on this .

Seller says:

“OOAK (one of a kind) hand made mixed media sculpture of a Amaterasu, made by A. Pribnow. Based on Japanese folkore and mythology, Amaterasu appears this time in the form of a white wolf. There are a few sellers in today’s listing who have a shrinking stock of the item up for auction. This happens when someone buys up a collectible with the intent of reselling for a profit, or when old stock for a store is found. Both examples can be found below. The first item up is going fast…

The Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia - Another release connected to the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda, this book is full of great information from the Zelda series. The book is Japanese, but the seller is shipping from the U.S. This is their second batch of books and all but 4 have been sold.

Neo Geo Pocket Color - This auction is closing today (or has already closed, depending on when you’re reading this. lol) and the current bid is quite low.

Doom SNES Sealed - Something funny about this auction… The sealed copy of Doom is actually selling for the exact same price that I paid when it was new! Game prices back then were very unpredictable. The seller started with a full box of sealed copies of Doom, but half have already sold.

Doom 3 Gamestop Jacket - The seller explains that these jackets were given to Gamestop stores that sold the most copies of Doom 3. Each store that won got 5 jackets but how many stores qualified is unknown.

Skyrim Flag - It’s tough to get an idea of the size of this by the picture, but it’s actually 60″ long! That’s pretty huge. Bids are adding up and the auction closes today.

Sharp Famicom Station - Here is a serious buy for a serious collector. It’s in great shape and intact. The seller doesn’t have the key to open the front however.

Batman Arkham City Statue - Another awesome release from Kotobukiya! I love the gray look and how they used the edge of the base as part of the sculpture itself. The seller started with 4, but there’s only 1 left.

Batman DC Universe Online Statue - This Batman statue doesn’t match the quality found in the one above, but it still looks great. It has an above average paint job that catches the eye. 

Donkey Kong Coloring & Activity Book - You can’t go wrong for $2. There is one page with a connect the dots picture partly done, but it’s otherwise left untouched. This auction closes today.

Good morning VGA readers. Today I’ve got some pretty cool auctions to display including vintage battery hand helds, the ones that were a big deal when I was in elementary school. There’s also an odd Gears of War 3 Canvas prize awarded to contestants of a contest and only 10 were made. So lets begin:

First auction is for a Gears of War 3 Painted Canvas. As the seller puts it, “For sale is an item I won in a Gamestop sweepstakes. It is a gears of war signed art piece that is 30×20 inches. I do not know much  about it, but i do know they only gave out 10 of the prize and  I was  one of them. The painting is valued at $250 according to the rules of  the the “Go Commando” sweepstakes. It is on a canvas and is an actual  painting. This is NOT a print and it is signed by the author, although I do not know who the author is. I do not know much about art or about  the painting.If you have any questions then please feel free to message me. ”

Other Video Game Auctions:

- New – Mass Effect – Signed / Autographed by Entire Bioware - “This is a copy of the standard edition first print of Mass Effect for Xbox 360. Game has never been played but was opened and signed by the Bioware dev team in 2007 during its release. Signatures guarnteed authentic and cover both the front and disk of the game. I’ll try and get an actual pic up in thenext couple of days. Camera has been acting up.”

- Super Mario Yoshi Sign 90s - It’s definitely a nice store display, but it is selling for a high price. I wouldn’t see myself buying this for more then $200 on a good day but it usually sells for around $350+.

- PC – RARE GAMES Collection 12 boxed games – A nice lot of good titles, but again just too much. My advice would be to sell them individually. Goblins 1 and 2 are fun to play. Each game can get between $30-$50.

- Ninja Gaiden Hand Held Tiger New – Classic title, played it a few times on the hand held. It’s typical play, just move the character and slice at the bad guys. Its more of a collectible then to actually play it. Impressive he/she has it sealed.

-MSX game METAL GEAR & METAL GEAR2 SOLID SNAKE – Released in 1987 and distributed up to 1990 its a rare Japanese title and one that most Metal Gear fans want. It comes complete.

- Karnov Hand Held Tiger New – Same as above, impressed it’s still new. Also never knew they made a Karnov title for the hand held.

- Gauntlet Hand Held Tiger New – Same as above.

- SNES 7 Rare Game Lot – Good titles. You have Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, Super Mario RPG and more. The lot is starting at a reasonable price, but doesn’t include boxes or manuals.

- Darkseed II New PC – Classic pc game made by H.G Giger. Has a lot of Alien the movie influence in this game and in the art. Very unique.

- Final Fantasy VII 7 Collection, Books, Promo, Soundtrack, Poster - This seller has been selling this lot for some time now. The bus ad itself is worth $500 alone.

- Final Fantasy VII  original black label – A Final Fantasy VII sealed is still a nice piece to have in your collection if you’re a fan, however buying one that is mint is not only hard but quite expensive. The price ranges varies according to the condition. In this case it’s the batch with the drill hole in the top left. Also it’s the shrink wrap version, not y-fold which means it is more likely to have cuts, holes and tears.

Looks like more rare video game auctions are coming our way. Up on eBay right now is this Official ENIX Dragon Quest Sword of Roto! For those who don’t know, he Sword of Roto is a powerful sword for the legendary hero in the Dragon Quest games. It’s used to slay slime, skeletons, sacksquatch, spirits, souls, monsters, witches, dragons and whatever else you can find in the game!

This is a really cool collectible for Dragon Quest fans. It was made by ENIX (not Square-Enix) in 1991 and the sword is indeed made out of metal. It is beautifully shown in it’s presentation box with the official labels on the side. It’s not life size though (only 1/6 scale). I doubt you’ll find this popping up anytime soon, even on YJA.
