Ever wanted to be like Victor Belmont? Well you had the oppertunity back in 2007 since Konami was selling this official Catlevania Whip in their online shop. It sold out pretty fast and the only way to find it was on eBay.

You rarely see these pop up and when you do they sell for $150+. That’s how much the last one sold for and it was well over a year ago, probably two years. Well today seller susana1528 is selling the Castlevania whip on eBay. The price is excellent, but considering that these only cost $29.99 in the online store it’s worth a lot more now. I am not sure if these were limited with a serial number otherwise the seller would have added that in the description, but I remember receiving an email from Konami and them making a big deal about the whip being “exclusive”, so I am guessing there weren’t too many made.

At the price the whip is at, I think it’s low(for the time being). Heck, even at $29.95 back in 2007 it was a steal. Anyways, the whip is 8 feet long, has a small metal plate with the Castlevania logo on it as shown in the picture below. The seller also states that the whip is “dry”, so you’ll need to use a special oil since the whip is made out of leather(what is the oil called again?).

These are not limited, but you never know how many are made available. Capcom’s store is notorious for selling out fast, so there’s no guarentee Capcom will produce more of these! I remember when Capcom announced that only 200 copies of the Mega Man 9 Press Kit would be available via their site. Within 3 minutes all press kits were sold out, however, they were nice enough to produce more for those who missed out.

Ebay may be full of great collectibles that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else, but who are the original owners? Meaning the people who buy limited and rare items when they are new. After all, once something is sold out, the value goes up and you will never be able to get it any cheaper ever again (well, that’s the case most of the time). Extension Knife with Leather Bracer

This collection is something from Japan that many people don’t seem to know about. Basically the idea was that CD single soundtracks of Famicom games would be sold in the same way that trading cards are. You buy a package which looks the same as all the other packages and open it to find which random disc you get from the series! (along with a piece of yogurt flavored candy).

The back of the box lists 15 titles that are in the collection but also notes that the full set is 20 discs. This leaves 5 mystery titles that would be more rare than the others. In fact, 1 out of the 5 was extra rare. I’m happy let everyone know that I have managed to track down every single disc in this collection. Oddly, one of the 15 standard discs was the hardest to find…

As you’ve noticed above; Metriod is missing from the links. This put me on a quest to find the last title which lasted hours. In the end, I was not able to find it on it’s own… However… I did find an online store selling the first 19 discs in the series for one crazy low price of $130! This collection includes disc #12 Metroid but as I just mentioned, disc #20 (Disk Writer), is missing from this collection. The first 19 discs can be found here at Golden Shop! This collection combined with #SP above would total out to about $230 for the entire series… the series all together could easily sell for $350-$450.

The same store also sells the sealed boxes for $7 each. This would be cool to have, but since the soundtracks inside are random, you can never own the complete series factory sealed. To buy a sealed mystery box, check here at Golden Shop.

 

Many people know that cartridge games can be copied onto a computer with the help of certain tools. This process loaded the internet with ROMs and Emulators which has enabled the world to download every game ever made from the comfort of their home for free! Of course this is very much illegal unless you own a copy of the game you are downloading. Emulators however are %100 legal creations that are okay to download and distribute. Still, many people don’t like the idea because they want to play these games on a TV rather than a computer. Even if you hook up your computer to your TV, people still want the original control when they play. Well, today I would like to show an amazing invention from the brilliant people at RetroZone that offers exactly that. These PowerPak cartridges fit and play in original systems as though they were normal cartridges. The amazing thing is, you can put a Compact Flash card into the cartridge loaded with as many games as you want!

This card can be either 2GB or 4GB. Keep in mind that the entire North American NES library in ROM form is about 100MB and if you had every Famicom game added to that with hundreds of other hack games, you would still be using up less than half the card. As for SNES, the complete North American library is about 1GB. This is a childhood game come true…

Square Enix recently announced that they will be releasing a line of quality action figures based on the PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Yes, you read that right; Square Enix is making these figures! I guess Konami figured you have to give credit where credit is due… Square Enix has produced amazing merchandise over the years. These figures will be part of the Play Arts -Kai- line of figures. Normal “Play Arts” figures are normal size figures that you would expect to find. The “-Kai-” figures however are a larger scale, more detailed, have more articulation points, and tend to have more parts included. These stunning vehicle models and figure are to be released sometime near the end of September or early October. Pre-orders are being taken now though! There are hundreds, if not thousands, of TV plug-and-play games in the world. It’s odd to think of it this way though… many people know they exist, but who besides the hardcore collector knows when a new one is released? These finds are nothing more than a taste of the universe that is… TV GAMES!

Namco 5 in 1 - This compact TV game contains 5 different Namco games. The games aren’t listed in the auction, however looking at the side of the system itself, I can see it has Pac-Man, Dig Dug, and Pole Position. I can’t be sure what the last 2 are.

Namco 5 in 1 (Retro) - Another Namco 5 in 1, but this is a much older model. This system has Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position, Mappy, and Xevious. That’s quite a line-up for any late night game tournament.

Namco 12 in 1 - This is the most recent collection of Namco Games on a TV system. The list of games: Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position, Dig-Dug, Galaxian, Super Pac-Man, Xevious, New Rally X, Mappy, Pac-Man Plus, Bosconian, and Pac & Pal.

Mortal Kombat - This is a plug-and-play Mortal Kombat! Amazing to think that with this little machine, you can play Mortal Kombat anywhere that has a TV.

World Poker Tour - This, in my opinion, is an excellent choice for a TV game. The casual gamer who would keep this in a drawer near the TV seems a likely buyer here.

Sodoku + 48 Games - This one has a bunch of Sodoku puzzles along with 48 other nameless games. It actually comes with 2 different controls and a gun… you can guess any game in the world as being one of the 48 with those controls…

Street Fighter II - This TV game emulates Street Figher II on the Genesis. It comes with 2 controls, so you can challenge anyone anytime…

Atari 10 in 1- Made in the style of a classic Atari control, this 10 in 1 system has the following games: Centipede, Breakout, Gravitar, Real Sports Volleyball, Pong, Yars Revenge, Circus Atari, Missile Command, Asteroids, and Adventure.

Star Wars Classic Battles – This TV game is a bit of a mystery… I’m not sure what the games are, but it sounds like the games are unique to the system (which would be incredible). If anyone knows for sure, please post a comment.

In my long searches for TV games over the past few days, I happened to find something I could not believe. This TV system claims to contain 78,000 games!! I can’t see how this could be legal (and perhaps it isn’t), but there’s a catch… the site it’s being sold from is designed to ship items in high quantity for store sock or business give-aways. For this item, the minimum order is shown as “negotiable”. You can assume that shipping one unit is not an option… but, you never know… check it out here at SZ Wholesale.
