Good morning VGA readers, I have some interesting auctions today. I’m also posting some Zelda 3DS stuff found by our friend Miss Elle. There’s a few really interesting auctions here, and tons at great deals so get your watch list ready:

First auction is for an incredibly rare Lunar Silver Star Story Plush. It’s Nall, the winged cat and it comes new with tag. These always go over $300 and they’re pretty rare. I looked for information on how to get one but I couldn’t find anything so I assume it was something given out by Working Designs to employees or media as a promotional item. I don’t know if these were available to the public. If you have more information you can post it in the comments section. Very nice plush to have in your collection, but expect to pay big bucks. Argh I want this!

Second auction is for the Final Fantasy VII Cardass Masters Gold Card Promo Set. This has been on auction for some time now and I’m surprised no Final Fantasy fan out there has gone for these. In the Final Fantasy Top 10 Collectibles list exclusively found on VGA, I mention these as rare and limited. Here is the seller’s description of the cards, “The Carddass Masters gold cards were limited to 500 world wide and there is a total of 4 cards. Don’t make the mistake to think these are the common and numbered foil cards. The gold cards are not serial numbered and clearly state on the back of the card that they are a “prize”. They were a campaign prize in 1997 and were only obtainable through a draw which if you were lucky you were mailed a card with a letter. A complete set is extremely hard to find!“.  Sure not everyone has $1000 to spend on cards but I’ve read through countless Final Fantasy forums on how some of the collector’s were looking for this. Anyhow the price will either drop or stay the same.

Other Video Game Auctions:

- Mass Effect Standee New - New in box and on auction. The price is at $70 beans.

- Secret of Mana Sealed – Reason I’m listing this is because you don’t see it often and it’s a nice sealed game to have if you’re an RPG fan and into sealed games.

- Robotrek Sealed – This one is sealed with a silver star? Anyways it’s $1299. If that’s too much you can get a sealed one here for $200.

Soundtracks:

- MegaMan X 1-6 Soundtrack – Great soundtrack, need to get this for my game music library. Yeah that’s right I said library

- Super Mario RPG Soundtrack – At $70+ bucks which isn’t too bad. I expect this to go higher.

- Super Mario 64 Soundtrack – Who doesn’t want this one? It’s on auction so go for it!

- Grimgrimoire Soundtrack – This soundtrack is absolutely amazing. The price is beyond fair, $11 buy it now!

- Akumajo Dracula Best 1 – Which means Castlevania greatest hits 1-3. Original Konami cd on auction for $7+.

- Akumajo Dracula X – Dracula X for SNES double cd soundtrack. There’s 2 days left and it’s at $6? What a steal, it’s definitely worth over $50.

- Street Fighter Ost Lot - What a great deal, worth over $70 it’s at $5 on auction. Can’t believe there’s no bid on this.

- Lunar Eternal Blue Cd Japan – It’s an import and the individual version. If I remember correctly the Eternal blue game already includes the music cd.

- Zelda 3DS Ocarina - A nice Ocarina for promo, it’s sealed.

- Zelda 3DS Soundtrack – Although this is a safe buy you can get it for much cheaper. They show up for on auction for less, but if you don’t want to wait or battle $49.99 seems to be the standard.

- Sega Genesis Cooking Apron - A unique Sega collectible, it’s a cooking Apron with “Sega Specialist” imprinted on it. Whether you want to impress your buddies or creep them out at the next get together this is a a nice piece of Sega merchandise to get.

We have some sealed goodies up for auction today as well as a rare pre-production statue from Virtua Fighter!

Now I’ve done several posts on sealed games but I never imagined that modern console games, when sealed, can fetch a high price. Yes there are exceptions to the rule, either the game comes in a press kit, either it’s signed, or it has special art work(rare for console gaming). But never the less the next auction up is in high demand. I’ll be quite honest here and have no idea why it’s in such a demand. I have seen these ME collector editions before, maybe not sealed which is why people are willing to spend big bucks for it. Don’t let the price fool you, people are willing to pay even 1.5k for it.

Next auction up for bid is a rare prototype that the manufacture sent to Sega licensing department for approval before they went in to production. It is labeled on the bottom (1st SMPL FEB 21, 98). If you’re a Virtua Fighter fan this is for you. If you’re a Sega fan this is a must. Virtua Fighter was released in 1993 on the Arcade. It later became available on the Saturn in 1995. It was the first polygon-based fighting game.

Wow I have some incredible stuff for display today. I have unique items from seller Weezerjedi. He’s got some cool E3 items that are signed. He also has pictures for proof which always help. I think by now most can recognize a fake from an original. Video Game autographs are not usually fake. I’ve seen very few fakes on eBay but then again you need to have a knack for that sort of thing.

Well first auction up for bid is a copy of Metal Gear for the Nintendo Entertainment System but SIGNED by Hideo Kojima!! Now how cool is that? No really… how cool is that? This, in my opinion, is the holy grail of Metal Gear collecting, getting a Hideo Kojima autograph on Metal Gear for NES.

 The autograph is genuine as you can tell from the picture below. I never understood why people who go to Hideo Kojima signings never bring worthy items for autographing like the original Metal Gear? I know if I went to one of these I’d milk it for all it’s got.

The same seller is listing a Nintendo Press kit from the E3 event. Apprently Miyamoto did a suprise appearence so the seller went over to the Nintendo booth where a big crowd gathered. He got this press kit signed as it was the only Nintendo related item he had in the moment. This is a sheer reminder to bring a bag with you full of merchandise “in case” something like that happens.

Good early afternoon videogameauction readers. We have an interesting line up of auctions today. We’re going to start off with a pretty looking Nintendo test station. What is a Nintendo Test Station? Well it was a Nintendo Entertainment System testing machine made by Nintendo in 1988 with the ability to test games, accessories and hook-ups. The device only appeared at World Of Nintendo retailers and was used by employees to test customers’ Nintendo Entertainment System paraphernalia.

The unit itself is very large, weighing almost forty pounds, and securely hooks up to the television through both AV Cables and RF Switch in one wire. The user can choose which output to use for game-play by pressing the RF/AV for Audio/Video Cable connection, or leave it unpressed for RF Switch connection. The television it’s hooked up to (normally nineteen inches) is meant to be placed on top of it.

When the system is turned on, you have the option to select either the AC Adapter, Game Pak, Accessories (which include the Controller, Zapper, ROB, or Power Pad), Control Deck, Audio/Video Cables, and RF Switch with a black knob and they will be tested. The testing simply displays the selected output’s results as either ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail. (Wiki)

Next item up for bid is a sealed copy of Chrono Trigger. Now it’s not just any sealed copy of Chrono Trigger… oh no…. it’s actually from Digital Press. For those of you who don’t know Digital Press it’s a store located in New Jersey but more specifically they’re known for their Video Game Rarity guide. They have an online Database and also 2 books which you can purchase. Check out the site, you’ll find some interesting things here at Digital Press. So with that said it is interesting that they’re releasing a Sealed Chrono Trigger copy on eBay.

I’m curious how they got it, if it was a trade in, was it in their stock? But never the less you can bet this copy is in great shape. I did notice a dent in one of the pictures on the side corners but that could just be my bad vision. GOOOOOD MORNING it’s Oct 1st!! Sometimes when I’m looking for sealed games I tend to do a general search when really I should be doing an “auction only” search, that’s where the real “dealz” are at. Usually sealed games are buy it now for ridiculous prices. See this is where I disagree with value being placed on items. Yes some games do deserve to be priced high, fine. But far too often they are being listed in the thousands which is only influencing a increase in the market price. Take example and sealed SNES Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 3. These titles fetch anywhere from $1000-$3400. I agree with the 1000 mark as a MAX value for these titles and mind you being in pristine condition, but anything more is just milking a market that’s already been milked dry. Fortunately for me I purchased my CT sealed for $500 at the time on auction. Agree or disagree, I believe sealed games shouldn’t pass the 1k mark.

Let’s GO:

Prime example of what I was talking about above. This auction, if sold for it’s REAL market value, would easily be $4000 but it doesn’t work like that. In fact I am sure this guy is losing A LOT of money by selling this collection but he needs the $$ and realizes if he puts it higher he reduces the chances of selling it. Unlike the power seller who buys and sells sealed games for profit, he doesn’t mind waiting and leaving it for a 28 day buy it now price. Regardless this is a sweet auction for a good price. I’m could be decieved and tricked that these are re-sealed so better to ask the seller.
