At the Classic Gaming Expo last year, a homebrew Halo game was released for the Atari 2600. There was a limited release of 500 cartridges and the ROM itself is available online for free. The game was designed by Ed Fries who used to be VP of game publishing for Microsoft’s Xbox division so it has a connection to Halo itself. One of the cartridges has appeared on eBay recently and it’s in great condition.
Here are a few more cool items…
Sharp Famicomstation– This sample console is similar to the North American M8 and M82 sample consoles. Inside are 10 selectable games such as Super Mario Bros, Wild Gunmen, Gradius, Ghosts n Goblins, etc. It’s a great piece of Nintendo history and is in fairly good condition. Note there appears to be some damage on the wire for the zapper.
Digital Press Console Game Rarity Guide – 7th Ed. – This would be interesting to read. It’s an old rarity guide that lists games rated out of 10 on how rare they are. I can’t say how accurate it is, but it would still be cool to flip through.
Coco to the Rescue Handheld Game– How many people have played this? lol. It’s a handheld LCD promo game by Kelloggs which features the Coco Pops monkey Coco.
