Today’s first auction was sent to us by Adam. When it comes to Pokemon items, much of what I know has come to me by over-hearing others talk or random forum posts. It’s not really an area I’ve spent a lot of time in but I should… Pokemon is basically a universe of collectibles fuelled by games designed to engage gamers to collect. This item is from a very interesting moment in Pokemon history…
Berry Glitch Fix Gameboy Advance – Back in 2004 many copies of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire in the U.S., Germany and France had a glitch that would resemble a dead battery inside the cartridge which would stop all calendar events. The battery would be fine, but time would loop in the game without moving forward. It became known as the “berry glitch” because a certain kind of berry would stop growing in the game (a noticeable warning sign of the glitch starting up). To get people back into the game, a fix was set up (at Gamestop I believe?) where you could go in to get your game fixed and you would also get a Shiny Zigzagoon for going in. This auction is for one of the GBA’s used to apply this fix. There was also a GBA Mew distribution system up for sale, but it sold before I got a chance to put it up! Video Games Magazine #1 (1988) – I would love to take a look through this magazine. Reading it cover to cover would be so much fun knowing so much about what happened back then and what came after. The cover art seems to be a Blaster Master theme. Cool stuff.
Portal Gun Replica – A while back I listed one of these and mentioned there were still some random sites out there selling it new. This may no longer be the case, so here’s an auction for one of the 5,000 out there and it’s taking bids.
Chrono Cross Desk Clock – This is a nice little item for Chrono Cross fans. Nice design that isn’t overly busy or distracting.
Six Flags Wii Experience Champion Belt – Six Flags had a competition on for a while where people would try to get the fastest knock out fighting Glass Joe on Punch Out for the Wii. The winner would get a couple of games and one of these belts! The belt itself is a top quality item. The face plates are actually made of metal and weigh quite a bit. You can expect the final bid to be much higher than the current.
Link / Mario Yo-Yo – Still in it’s original packaging, this ball shaped yo-yo has a picture of Mario on one side and Link on the other! The back of the card shows each yo-yo in the series. The Ghostbusters one would be sweet!
Activision Mini Fridge – Wow, this is very very cool. I actually deleted this auction from my post today for a bit because I was going to get it for myself. Then, I thought about it for a while and figured there might be a bigger Activision fan out there that would love to hook this up in their game room. The fridge can hold 6 cans to keep them chilled and at the ready. Just awesome…
Capcom vs SNK Millennium fight 2000 Promo Lighter – Iori is always my first pick when playing KoF. If I was a smoker, I would make a bid in a heartbeat lol.
Katamari Damacy Zipper Pouch – Keep stuff in this if you like to hear people ask you, “What the hell is that!?”. Seriously though, Katamari games are great Japanese fun.
