Super Mario Bros Prototype Samples and Signed Items

I’ll be honest and tell you that prototypes/samples are not my cup of tea in the morning. Sure it’s neat to have the earlier productions of certain games. The more popular the game is, the more desirable it is to own the prototype(if you can find it). I’d love to have proto’s of certain games, but I am not crazy for them. With that said, prototypes are sought out by a large amount of collectors, and some are willing to pay in the high thousands for them.  I’m not an expert when it comes to this field, but I can spot a good auction from a mile a way.

eBay seller bidoncoolstuff has two auctions ups. One is for a 3 in 1 proto which consists of Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., and World Class Meet. The  other proto is for Super Mario Bros. 2. The seller removed the casing for the games to show the codes. He had these two auctions up before but were combined into one. I am guessing he realized that these are very rare and would be better off selling them separately which both  have exceeded the $150 mark already.

If you want to find out more about these auctions, you can find the 3 in 1 cart here and the Super Mario Bros. 2 cart here.

Wow, signed by Todd McFarlane! He’s been my favorite comic book artist since he got his big break with Spider-man.

That has got to be the funiest reply ever. Not in context but rather situation. Here we have a Super Mario Bros. Prototype, something the almighty Gods of Mount Olympus don’t even have. It’s probably even rarer then the holy grail and you comment on McFarlane 😉 All in good humor though 😉
