Atari 2600 Featured Nintendo (NES) PlayStation (PS1) PlayStation 2 (PS2) Plush Sega Saturn Super Mario Bros. Watch 1

Sword of Mana – One of a Kind, Vintage Atari Vest, Sega Saturn Champion Seat and More!

This has got to be one of the coolest auctions I’ve seen in a long time.  Most of you probably never knew this item existed (I know I didn’t). Thanks to Ed for the submission, right now on eBay there’s a one of a kind Sword of Mana on eBay.

Sword of Mana Official

It’s pretty incredible that this sword was actually produced. I mean, think of all the different types of items that Nintendo could have made and they choose to make the Sword of Mana. I wonder why they did this? What was the purpose? Well, the seller has more insight on it since he’s the only one in the world to own one. He basically said that “This is a one of a kind sword of mana made by a Master Blacksmith at Barrett Custom Knives. Made out of solid Bronze with encrested opal stones this sword comes with a six foot tall display case made from acrylic and wood with a stone base to hold the sword. Made by the order of Nintendo Power back in 2004 this sword was valued at 12,000$. The sword has only been taken out for inspection and the display case has never been out of its original frieght box that it was originally shipped in. Both are in mint condition and I have the original paperwork that came with them. I will be posting more pictures up later on with more details of the sword and of some of the paperwork. Also to note the charge for shipping is not going to be local, it will be frieght shipping by ups and the charge is 140$ to ship. It would not let me post anything for shipping over 150lbs.”

I would like to know what was the purpose of making this sword? How did the seller get it? Was this to be won in a contest or simply to be used in a Nintendo Power magazine for pictures? I know Nintendo Power would go out of it’s way to create real props to use in their magazines; give the reader a “real” feel of gaming and how a video game item could look like in real life. Great auction, especially since it was estimated to be $12,000 (seller’s selling it for $5000).

Other Video Game Auctions:
SEGA SATURN DAYTONA USA CHAIR CHAMPION´S SEAT TIME TRIAL GRAND PRIX – I don’t know too much about this piece, but supposedly it is very rare. Seller says this was used in a 1995 Daytona USA tournament. It looks to be official but the price is a little high. Check it out!
SNES Super Nintendo Squaresoft RPG BREATH OF FIRE 100% Complete CIB MUST SEE – Not too many complete Breath of Fire games. Surprised the bid isn’t higher.
Vintage NINTENDO 1989 Mario Store Display Promo Sign 2 Sided NES VHTF – This is an auction that you don’t want to miss out on! Current bid is at $67.
Nintendo 64 Super Mario Brothers Plush Collection – Cute lot. I am not sure if this is the complete collection.
Final Fantasy UFO Catcher Squaresoft Moogle Plush with Tag (1998) – This is part of chocobo’s dungeon plush set. I believe there are three to collect.
VINTAGE ATARI Game Jacket Atari 2600 – The only thing this vest is missing is a huge atari logo on the back. Still a decent price if you think about how old this vest is.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale PROMO WATCH – Not sure the game is to die for, but the watch is pretty slick especially with the PlayStation logo.
4ft tall Super Mario Statue, Nintendo store display, RARE with original base – I believe I’ve seen this statue sell once below $1000, and that’s because it was on regular auction. It was around the $600 which is a fair price. Not sure I’d pay more than that.
Nintendo Virtual Boy Red & Black Console – Ultra Rare – Complete w/ Box & Game – If you don’t have one yet, this is a great auction to jump on! Cheap!

Good luck!
